Visit to the Park

We got our computer back this week, and so far it has been working great! But, now two of the computers in the office have a virus and it has been a major problem trying to get them fixed. As I mentioned I had my wallet stolen and one of the office sisters had someone break into her back pack as she was walking home. Aside from these problems and a few others things that have happened the work is moving forward in the mission and we are making progress in our office responsiblities. A couple of Sisters came into the office from England to provide some financial training which was an immense help and each of the newer members of the office are begining to learn their responsibilites. We have enjoyed conference over the past two days. We received the Saturday morning session late Saturday evening and attended a rebroadcast of priesthood at noon today. We watched the Saturday afternoon rebroadcast at 3:00 and the Sunday Morning Session live at 7:00 p.m. via the internet in our apartment. This technology has been a real blessing on occassions such as this. As I'm writing I'm thinking of all my family members who have been able to watch conference and are now eating lunch as they prepare for the afternoon session. The messages of the prophets have all been inspiring and uplifting. I pray we may all follow the counsel we receive and be uplifted in the knowledge we receive.
The name of the young lady in these photos is Violeta. She is a Romanian girl who works in our offices as an accountant. She is not a member of the Church but works 4 days a week and keeps copies of all our financial records in order to make certain we comply with the regulations of the Romanian Governement. This is quite a task as I oversee this responsbility for the mission and working with young elders to get proper receipts and timely reports has been a problem. Sharon has become a good friend to her and she has helped us in many ways. She was responsible for getting our computer fixed and has performed several favors for us. We have talked to her about the church but she is not interested in changing her religion. We hope to friendship her and perhaps she will be touched by the Spirit and want to investigate the church seriously. This is the Charles DeGalle park which is large and quite nice. It is one of Violeta's most favorite places to visit and she was so proud to show it to us.

Hello Dick and Sharon. Good to hear from you. Things are great in Michigan. BYU is awesome! Dick you are missing one great season!
I met a Romanian lady in the ER the other night. Her boyfriend had taken some antibiotic from Romania and had a serious reaction to it. Don't take the antibiotics from Romania! J/K.
We loved conference this weekend. I had the weekend off and we tuned in on the internet. There were some great talks. Priesthood session was great (as always). I got to go with some of the guys in the ward and get some burgers before it started. It was fun.

This last week we took the boys to get their picture taken. Luke was the best he's ever been. He smiled the whole time. We got some great shots. We bought Luke a small cement truck for the photo shoot. The deal was that if He smiled really big he could have the truck. Each time Luke's smile started to fade I would hold the cement truck up and his smile would quickly return.

We are excited to have Sarah visit us this week. Amy has already started to clean and prepare. Amy's real excited to hang out with her sister and go to dinner and stuff.

Anyhow keep up the good work. Good job with Violeta. We pray for you all the time.

That park looks beautiful! It looks like the weather is still nice there. We had our first taste of fall this weekend. I'm excited about fall but, not looking forward to winter.

You guys look great! It sounds like you take everything that's happened in stride. And look for the good in everything and everybody. Thank you for being such a good example. We love and miss you!
