Mission throught for November

The month of November has come and gone so quickly. It has been a difficult month in many ways since coming back from St. Louis to attend Dennis' funeral. But, the office has been busy as we continue to make adjustments and handle the work load. This past week was transfer week with eight new Elders and Sisters entering the field. We also received a new office Elder with the transfer of Elder McBride and a new AP. We now have the longest tenure in the office besides Sister Nelson who will be leaving the first of March. A new senior Sister will be coming in to take her place the first of January. The mission has had a very good month in baptisms with 15 so far and hopefully this momentum will continue. The president has been working very hard to correct some mission rule compliance issues with some of the Elders and his efforts seems to be paying off. We have missed the Halloween and Thanksgiving Holiday this year along with our anniversary because of work etc. Romanians don't acknowledge U.S. Holidays though they do have Christmas. We are beginning to see some of the Christmas decorations go up but it is not nearly on the scale of the U.S. which is of course driven mostly by our commercial incentives. But, we bought a few decorations for the apartment and will be having the Senior Couples to our apartment for Family Home Evening this Monday. We are looking forward to hearing from family members and see new pictures on the blogs.
I thought I'd include a photo of Grandma Rees at Thanksgiving two years ago. She turns 90 December 7. The photo of me on the street during a small political rally. I don't know who these guys were supporting but the sword is a little intimidating. This Elder received a candy gram letter. It was fun to read. Sorry it doesn't show in the photo

Hi mom and dad,
Always love and look forward to hearing of your mission experiences and seeing your photos. I've been trying to keep up on my blog for you, although not real exciting it gives you an update of our family. reber7family.blogspot.com
