Moldova Trip

It hasn't taken long to get back into the mission activities. It took a few days to get reorientated and then at the end of the second week we went into a district conference in Bucharest in which they combined the district with the Ploiesti district. We had Elder Kepeski (sp) a member of the area presidency and the first quorum of seventy and Elder Vondra (sp) our area authority. Both are German born and have testimonies which are tied to their life long experiences as European members of the church. It was inspiring to hear them teach and tell of their memories of the early stages of the church in German. This week we went into Moldova. It is a country that borders Romania on the North East. It has a Communist dominated government and is heavily influenced by Russia. Moldova is a part of the Romania mission but there are Russian speaking members as well as Romanian members. It was truly a unique experience. We enjoyed the brief visit and the association with the members, the two couple missionaries who serve in this area, as well as the full time elders and sisters there.

I hope you bought some of those beautiful nesting dolls! Looks like an interesting trip. We saw Bucharest highlighted on The Amazing Race two weeks ago. They highlighted gymnastics, a gypsy settlement, and the vampire history.
