We have been busy as usual. Last Sunday the Labarge family invited the Hansen's and the single sisters and us, to come to their home fto share an Easter meal. Brother Labarge work for the State Department. They have three children and live in a normal type home. It was the best meal we've had since coming to Romania. We had honey ham, mashed potatoes, marinated carrots, home made rolls, etc. You get the picture. We sat around a large dinning room table and had a wonderful conversation and enjoyed their family and children. What a treat.
This week we went to Sibu a Saxon city founded in the the 1200 hundreds. We met for a seniors conference, heard some terrific talks and learned of the great work each of the couples are performing in their respective areas. Some are involved in humanitarian projects, such as developing a water system for an entire village, distributing wheel chairs, sending flood relief, and a neo natal recitation training program. Some are also involved with Young Single Adult programs, Single Adult and in general training assignments. Each couple is experienced, talented and have contributed so much during their respective missions. It was a truly uplifting conference as we were able to get to know these wonderful people and hear their testimonies. We found that this part of Romania has a rich European history. We were able to visit churches, citadels, and town squares which were constructed in the 1200 to 1500 era. This was an interesting and educational experience and gave us a new appreciation for Romania.
In the photo of the men playing chess Sister Lundberg and I were able to talk with a couple of the men there which resulted in getting leads which we turned over to the missionaries. Hopefully they will turn out to be good contacts.
